The surrounding landscape was the starting point for the styling. “The shoot was inspired by the hotel’s signature style, using natural textures and its soft, earthy colour palette,” explains Simone Burchell of Gara Rock Hotel. “Inspiration was taken from the beautiful surroundings by using classic oatmeal, deep browns, muted greens, burnt oranges and pops of ochre yellows and sea blues. The result is a luxurious feel that oozed warmth and indulgence.”
The tablescape is richin earthy tones and natural textures: blooms with a just-gathered feel nestle green glassware, rattan charger plates, tapered candles and stationery dotted with warm orange florals. Adorned with textured dried blooms, the ceremony arch frames the seascape, making a spectacular setting to exchange vows.
Fittingly, the models - real couple Aoife and James - have a love story of their own playing out in this extraordinary setting. “Aoife and James were engaged at Gara, and they're returning in 2024 to tie the knot,” says Simone. James's attire blends seamlessly with the rich blue and ochre shades of the aesthetic, while Aoife's bridal gowns - teamed with natural make-up and a soft updo, balance contemporary style with relaxed romance - perfect for loved-up wanders on the clifftops.
