Wedding at The Rosevine, Cornwall

Tristan and Vikki met on dating site match.com. "We had both been on dates with other people but, with Vikki's doctoral training coming to an end, she was close to giving up the search and moving back home to Lincolnshire," says Tristan. However, after the pair met for dinner in Truro one night, Vikki cancelled her move and, on their second date, Tristan announced he wanted marriage and children! The question was popped at sunset on a deserted beach on Bryher.



With beautiful sea views and room for all their friends and family to stay over the course of a weekend, the couple fell for the charms of The Rosevine on the Roseland Peninsula. "We knew from the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that it would be perfect for the sort of wedding we wanted," says Tristan.



Vikki's favourite colour, purple, was a recurrent feature, from the stationery through to the flowers and bridesmaid dresses. "We chose a natural just-picked look for the flowers" and Vikki's bouquet of roses and eustoma looked stunning against her beautiful bejewelled gown.



The ceremony was highly personal. Vikki walked down the aisle to a string quartet playing 'God Only Knows' by The Beach Boys. "This set the tone for a fun, happy and relaxed ceremony," says Tristan. The couple rounded off the ceremony by reading the lyrics to Leonard Cohen's 'Dance Me To The End of Love'.



After the ceremony, guests enjoyed Pimm's and canapes on the lawn, before moving into a marquee for a bespoke menu of fishcakes, lamb served with dauphinoise potatoes and roasted spring vegetables, and the pièce de resistance - Vikki's favourite dessert, rum baba.



A playful mood was in full force for the evening party. A carefully chosen playlist was interspersed with personalised voiceovers by 'The X Factor' announcer Peter Dickson, which mentioned each of the guests.





The couple spent a mini-moon at the setting of the proposal: Hell Bay Hotel on Bryher, and are planning a second honeymoon in the Maldives.



"Catching hold of Vikki's hand at the beginning of the ceremony and not letting go until we were married," was a stand out moment for both Vikki and Tristan. As for advice? "Choose key suppliers that understand the mood of your wedding. We were very lucky with our venue, photographer and florist."
