Wedding at Fentafriddle Farm

Nina and Tamsin first met each other while working for Badminton England. "I remember seeing Tam for the first time and thinking, 'she looks pretty cool, I'm going to be friends with her'," reveals Nina of their instant connection. "Obviously I didn't realise quite how good our friendship would be!" she adds.

A summer camping trip in the Lake District was made all the more unforgettable when, after a long walk with their dog Rafa around Lake Windermere, the couple stopped for food and wine in Ambleside where Tam proposed. "Neither of us said much for the next hour, I think we were both in a bit of shock!" recalls Nina.

Set on the north Cornwall coast, Fentafriddle was their venue of choice, providing the perfect combination of jaw-dropping scenery and run-of-the-land privacy. Taking a beach chic theme with a baby blue palette, Elle Winsor Grime from Inspire Hire helped Nina, Tamsin and their maids to bring their vision to life, assisting them in creating the table flowers and ceremony decor.

Beautifully decorated with foliage and gypsophila, the ceremony was conducted in the farmhouse by their neighbour, good friend and registrar, Karen Kilshaw."It was really special and very personal," says Nina. "We had prepared our own vows separately and didn't hear each other's until that point in the ceremony, but as it turns out we had written almost identical ones, which is testament to how well we know each other."

A sun-filled drinks reception on the lawn welcomed guests to gorgeous sea views and was followed by a feast of fish and chips followed by cream teas with lavender scones. Later on, revellers were treated to platters of Cornish pasties and a show-stopping sandcastle cake that was created by a family friend.

"After a few tears and lots of laughs during the speeches, the dance floor was cleared," says Nina. "The evening was all about the party! Our marquee was in the middle of nowhere, which meant we could make as much noise as we wanted." This was handy because "four bottles of Jï¿½germeister were gone in less than an hour!" laughs Nina. "It was an amazing day and night shared with everyone we love."

The girls' final thought was actually taken from their vows (inspired by life advice from Nina's dad) and echoes many couples' reflections on their weddings, highlighting the importance of practising mindfulness throughout the day. "Just take in every moment. Stop. And appreciate!"
