THE BISHOP SUITE AT THE ALVERTON
With a feature fireplace, high ceilings and lots of natural daylight, The Bishop Suite at The Alverton Hotel in Truro was wasted as a meeting room. Having been lovingly refurbished, it's now a beautifully indulgent suite, adding to the plethora of gorgeous rooms at the award-winning hotel.

The room centres around a huge four-poster bed, made up with luxury linens and soft enough to sink into any time of day - but what will astound you as you step into the stylishly decorated suite is the huge amount of space. It's impressively furnished to encourage a sense of cosiness and comfort, despite the generous size: there's a lamp-lit desk area as well as a bay window nook complete with a table and plush chairs. With draped windows letting in the Cornish light, it's the perfect spot to sit and while away the morning with the day's newspapers and a home-brewed coffee, or perhaps pour yourselves a celebratory gin and tonic as the sun goes down.

Even the bathroom will wow you; the amount of thought and indulgence that has gone into its inception. The walk-in monsoon rainforest shower and fluffy towels will revive and rejuvenate, while marble furnishings and chandeliers bring the opulence. Dual roll-top baths allow you both to sink into an extravagance of bubbles, just made for the ultimate in relaxation.

With a serene colour scheme of golden hues and natural tones punctuated by the rich reds that match the blooms in the gardens outside, it brings a subtle and warm ambiance, with little touches including hand-knitted rugs and plump feather pillows.

While Truro city centre is just a few minutes' walk away, you'll love the feeling of serenity in this oasis of calm, perfect for that total state of relaxation needed after the buzz of being a bride.

TRURO
Thanks to its stunning cathedral - a magnificent example of gothic revival architecture and one of only three cathedrals in the country with three spires - Truro holds the title of the capital of Cornwall. Its position on the Truro River - a series of creeks, rivers and drowned valleys that leads into the River Fal - means the quaint but thriving city boasts a variety of landscape. From nearby coastal coves to green and lush landscapes, it's the perfect base for exploring. And as the southern-most city in England, its cobbled streets are also home to bars, restaurants and shops galore, so your mini-moon can bring rest and recreation in equal measure.

THE NEW RESIDENCES AT MERCHANTS MANOR
With floor-to-ceiling glass walls offering views of the sea, as soon as you step outside onto your private terrace, you can taste the salt in the sea air. However, despite their proximity to the ocean, these rustic-chic apartments near Falmouth Bay are a far cry from the beach shacks of old. With a focus on the best in British design, the architecturally designed spaces boast every added extra you could wish for. Timber-decked floors lead out to your own jacuzzi with sea views, while handmade tiles and botanical treasures ensure that the indoor spaces are just as welcoming as the great outdoors.

Part of luxury hotel and spa, Merchants Manor, guests are able to enjoy all of the hotel's facilities including the Rastella restaurant, swimming pool, Technogym and luxurious Linen Room spa. Having opened only at the start of the summer, the two self-catering properties - Landlubber and Lookout - bring you all the home-away-from-home comforts, but in an elegant and stylish setting, and each offer unique features with subtle nods to the coast. For example, Lookout's bedrooms feature antique hooks that were recovered from the private quarters of Queen Mary when she sailed around India and Asia as part of a coronation tour with King George V.

Each timber-framed apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as its own kitchen with all the mod-cons, so you can cook up a romantic dinner for two, or take your time over a leisurely breakfast at the heavy-set dining table. Industrial materials featuring brass and wood add to the modern yet rustic feel, and there's a vibrant mix of new and old furnishings, including antique mirrors and deep emerald headboards.

Given their proximity to the ocean, sandy beach trips and water sports are an easy daytime activity, before you retreat back to your haven of luxury. Designed so that each room has sea views, these sanctuaries make an ideal spot from which to curl up with a book, or take a glass of champagne to the terrace and toast your new marriage.

FALMOUTH
A buzzing harbour town on Cornwall's scenic south coast, Falmouth has a lively and energetic vibe. With a long-standing and fascinating maritime heritage, you'll be reminded of the sea at every corner. Whether it's a day spent at the National Maritime Museum, or enjoying a leisurely lunch of locally caught mussels, the ocean inspires so much of what makes Falmouth special. With a Blue Flag-accredited beach within five minutes walk of the town centre and the River Fal separating the Roseland peninsula from the rest of Cornwall, you'll feel the best type of secluded, surrounded by sea.

BLISSFUL BAY ROOMS AT MOUNT HAVEN

There's something remarkable and quite otherworldly about waking up and glancing out of your window to see a castle on an island in the middle of the bay. Mount Haven Hotel is in the enviable location of Marazion, a pretty Cornish town that's most famous draw is St Michael's Mount. The island can be accessed by causeway at low tide, while boats will take your across at high tide - and it's well worth a visit. But even if you don't make it across, sitting on your own private terrace, it makes for one heck of a view.

It can be tempting not to leave your Blissful Bay room at the Mount Haven hotel, such are the luxuries you'll find inside. Egyptian cotton linen and downy feather duvets cover the sink-into-softness beds - which are all king-sized or super-king-sized - while luxurious Turkish bathrobes and organic Bloom Remedies toiletries complement the spacious and contemporary bathroom.

The Nespresso machine is just the right addition to those long mornings on the balcony, taking in the scenery with a coffee in hand while you plan your unhurried day ahead, with your first decision what to have for breakfast. The on-site restaurant is highly regarded as one of the best in the area, and as you tuck into a full Cornish breakfast or smashed avocado on sourdough, you'll understand why. Expect imaginative dishes that use the freshest of local ingredients, including bread baked in St Ives and seafood caught in the bay. As the evening comes around, it's oh-so tempting to try a few special drinks from the unique Cornish cocktail menu, such as local samphire-infused gin paired with prosecco.

And in the spirit of post-wedding relaxation, there's even the option of booking a holistic therapist for a spa treatment, including everything from a hot rocks massage to a bespoke luxury facial.

Away from the hustle and bustle, you'll feel all those post-wedding stresses melt away, leaving you refreshed, relaxed and ready to embark on married life... After one more cocktail, of course.

MARAZION
Lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty gives you an idea of just how lovely the sandy beaches of Marazion are. Two miles from the larger town of Penzance, Marazion is populated with art galleries, the winding main street weaving you past gorgeous locally made wares such as pottery, glassware and paintings. Officially the oldest town in Cornwall, you'll now find a host of contemporary restaurants and cafes, from the award-winning Ben's Cornish Kitchen to modern pub fare at the Godolphin Arms. And its location, hugging the south coast, means activities such as stand-up paddle-boarding, windsurfing and snorkelling are second to none here.
