Having recently celebrated their marriage, Melissa and Matthew Holt have returned to their Barnstaple boutique Coopers Couture and renamed it Holts Jewellery in homage to their romantic union.
Originally established by Melissa (formerly Bruce) and Matthew Holt in 2013, the jewellers have a long-earned and glittering reputation for its fine
diamond engagement and wedding rings, as well as its highly personal
Melissa, who trained under the guidance of her jewellery expert grandfather, has a rare ability to spot the unique and exquisite, as well as a passion for the heritage of antique jewellery. On opening Coopers Couture with Matthew, the couple established the third generation in the family business, specialising in the finest diamonds, bespoke jewellery and antique engagement and wedding rings of bygone eras – with a particular fondness for Art Deco.
In May 2014, Melissa was presented with a very special engagement ring of her own. Having both fallen in love with the beautiful Italian town of Fiesole, Matthew planned to propose there – but first he needed to find the perfect ring.
“Thankfully, Melissa had provided plenty of ideas over the years for precisely what she liked, and fortunately, we know a few people in the trade,” he explains. “After a few that came close, I finally settled on a stunning diamond that was already set in an antique ring. Although the design of the ring didn't really do it for me, the diamond was a stunner, so I enlisted a goldsmith friend to turn it into something completely beautiful.”
Couples seeking the same exceptional quality and distinctive design will be spoiled for choice at the boutique, where an array of styles and sizes are available to peruse. Using the latest technology to showcase thousands of ring designs and combinations, clients are invited to create a unique set of wedding bands in comfortable surroundings for a relaxed and unforgettable shopping experience.
