One of Devon's most magical wedding venues is celebrating some rather special news. The Moorland Garden Hotel near Yelverton has received a glowing seal of approval from the AA as part of the motoring organisation’s world-renowned hotel inspection and star-rating scheme - having been awarded four stars, with The Wildflower Restaurant awarded a Rosette.
Purchased in July 2011 by business entrepreneurs Brian and Sonia Meaden, the hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment process that has included renovating the main reception areas and refreshing all 44 bedrooms, as well as cultivating the nine acres of gardens.
“Every member of the staff should be proud of these achievements,” said owner Brian Meaden. “It's been an amazing turn around and as you'd imagine, we're all delighted with the upgrade to a four star rating, recognition from The AA of the high standards that we've all been working very hard towards since first taking on the property."
“To have also achieved a rosette for The Wildflower Restaurant is fantastic news. Only ten per cent of restaurants nationwide are judged worthy of one rosette or above, and it’s a fabulous accolade to add to the numerous awards that the restaurant has already notched up."
Set in nine acres of landscaped gardens surrounded by Dartmoor National
Park, Moorland Garden Hotel offers an achingly beautiful backdrop for a
private and utterly romantic rural event.
