Ally and Amo's clifftop wedding in Newquay

One quick glance at the trailer of Ally and Amo's wedding video tells you all you need to know – this was one unforgettable, unbelievable, unrepeatable big day!

The Headland in Newquay was the scene for such a showstopping affair, which saw the couple – who met while working in Harrods toy department – planning a whole weekend of wedding celebrations with 200 of their friends and family. It started on Friday afternoon, with a champagne afternoon tea, which turned into an evening barbecue with cocktails and a jazz band, and once the sun set gave way to a night of casino tables and dessert stations.

The next morning began with sea swims and beach hangs, before the couple got ready separately with their friends.  "I spent the morning getting ready and having SO much fun with my sisters, best friends and the best glam squad," says Ally. "We spent most of the time dancing. I had a very special moment when I went to a different room to put my dress on. My mum got me into my dress and I had a moment with my parents before showing my bridesmaids."

Choosing a jewel-toned colour palette for their wedding, their 3pm ceremony was their favourite moment, especially "seeing each other as I walked down the aisle”, says Ally. “We were so overwhelmed by all the love we could feel from a room full of all of our friends and family, but the second we saw each other everything faded into the background.”

After the ceremony, the couple had a few minutes to themselves with a glass of champagne and canapes in the dining room. “We were completely blown away by the stunning displays, the beautiful light pouring in and the smell of roses," says Ally. "We walked through the room completely speechless and soaked up a moment of peace.”

The food was another highlight fr the couple. Antipasti platters were followed by chicken Milanese, Cornish fillet steak, squash and sage risotto, and wild line-caught sea bass as well as a plethora of sides, with a dessert menu including apple crumble, chocolate brownie with meringue and berries, and pavlova to finish.

The first dance was the beginning of a whole night on the dance floor for the newlyweds and their loved ones, with a surprise interlude. “After our first – to one of my old friends singing Simply the Best – we were called outside to do sparklers," says Ally. "That's when the surprise fireworks started with the backdrop of the sea and Fistral Beach. We had absolutely no idea this was about to happen, and watched in complete awe. I of course burst into tears the second they finished; all the emotion of the day caught up with me!”

The dancing continued until 5am thanks to DJ Paddy, with guests fuelled by a buffet of Korean fried chicken, crispy fried cauliflower, Cornish fish burger, barbecue ribs, loaded potato skins, honey mustard sausages, coleslaw, green salad and wedges – as well as the wedding cake and a huge selection of cookies! 

“We truly had the most magical day from start to finish and felt so incredibly lucky to have each other and such wonderful people in our lives. Even though it was a large wedding, it still felt intimate,” says Ally.
