LOVE IN DEVON

Congratulations on your engagement! May we wish you the warmest of welcomes here at Wed Magazine. You have such an exciting chapter ahead of you, and we're thrilled to be part of it.

Let us introduce ourselves. We're a tiny team who share a fondness for tea, gin, chocolate (particularly on a deadline!) and, of course, weddings. We've spent the best part of ten years creating Wed, our inspiration-packed magazine for couples planning their wedding in Devon. We'll be there every step of the way on this wonderful journey before you. From our website, which is packed with information, ideas and the finest suppliers, to our reader newsletter, social media channels and this, the rather gorgeous magazine itself, think of Wed as the best planning mate you could ask for. We're all about throwing out the rulebook and celebrating your love in brilliantly memorable so-you style!

After the excitement of getting engaged, the prospect of planning a wedding can feel rather overwhelming. Fret not! You'll find plenty of advice to help you get started in these pages, from the productivity hacks of 'Plan of Attack' to choosing your wedding party in 'The Modern Bride Tribe'; you'll also find a showcase of the top trends currently rocking the wedding scene in 'The Hot List' to help you fine-tune your vision. And if a big wedding isn't for you, then turn to 'The Power of Few,' where three couples share the magical stories of their intimate celebrations.

One of the highlights of wedding planning is choosing your dress - but be warned: you're in for a tough decision! Devon's bridal boutiques are bursting with incredibly beautiful gowns right now. Photographed in the dreamlike setting of Pynes House, our bridal fashion story 'Modern Love' is full of inspiration for brides with a penchant for contemporary but enduring style: think clean lines and statement silhouettes accessorised with twinkling jewels. 'Happily Ever After' showcases some of our favourite trends for modern princess brides, while 'Behind the Seams' introduces you to Devon-based bridal designer Kate Walker and her classically romantic gowns.

There's more enchanting inspiration for a Devon wedding in 'Burn Bright', a painterly blend of rich colours and relaxed vibes inspired by the rugged cliffs of the south coast. And English country house meets Victoriana in 'Botanical Beauty', setting the scene for a wedding filled with foliage and bygone treasures at Escot House.

'Got Wed' rounds off the issue in style, sharing the stories of eight weddings filled with fun, personality and love. From Sarah and Chris's rustic festival wedding in the north to Katie and Laurence's boho beach bash on the shores of the south - each couple celebrated the beauty of Devon and the joy of their union in a brilliantly personal way. I hope they inspire you as you set off on your journey to the aisle!
