Emerald Isle to Vintage Style

Jason and Lindsey's enchanting day at The Moorland Garden Hotel

Having met through a mutual friend at a barbecue in 2006, Jason whisked Lindsey away to the Emerald Isle to pop the question. "Jason proposed to me on a long weekend away in Dublin," explains Lindsey. "I had no idea at all that it would happen! I said yes, of course, and then we celebrated in style with an evening of watching Irish dancing and listening to great music!"

The Moorland Garden Hotel was the backdrop for their enchanting wedding, and the scenic grounds perfectly complimented the plethora of pretty inside. "We had vintage table decor with lanterns and candles surrounded by a circle of flowers and shabby chic style chalk boards telling our love story up to this date," reveals Lindsey.

The teal colour scheme was carried in the men's cravats, bridesmaid dresses, wedding invites and table place names, while details such as the wild seed wedding favours with a personalised stamp saying 'Let Love Bloom' added extra character to their coordinated celebration.

One of the main centrepieces was Lindsey's dress itself: a stunning ivory silk gown with lace overlay and buttons up the back paired with a full-length veil.

In keeping with the elegant vintage mood, Lindsey arrived for the ceremony at The Moorland Garden Hotel in a Bramwith while her bridal party pulled up in a Beauford. After the 'I dos', the newly-weds enjoyed a drive to Cadover Bridge for photos before returning for the festivities.

The day was a feast for the belly as well as the eyes. The chefs cooked up a culinary storm featuring pressed ham hock terrine with Cumberland sauce, roast West Country lamb with herb crust, gratin potato and red wine sauce and lemon meringue tart with raspberry sorbet.

Shot in the Dark Entertainment kept the dance floor in full swing until Lindsey and Jason retired to enjoy a poignant moment together. "Our amazing day ended with us watching the stars above the beautiful venue from our bridal suite - perfect!" comments Lindsey. "We also really enjoyed the walks around the venue's beautiful wildflower garden," she adds. "It gave us a quiet moment to allow the events of the day to soak in."

She offers her advice to busily planning brides. "My top tip would be to ensure that you order your bridesmaid dresses with enough time to allow for fittings afterwards. Plus, planning a wedding can be lots of fun and a lot of hard work, but the most important thing to remember is to enjoy the day when it arrives as it goes by in a flash."
