Wedding at Coombe Trenchard

"For a man who is rarely romantic, Seb pulled out all the stops for the perfect proposal," says Tiggi. Having met at work, Tiggi and Seb's friendship blossomed into romance, culminating in a dreamy engagement during a touring holiday in Italy. "The day Seb proposed, he surprised me by hiring a yacht and we sailed around the coast of Tuscany. He had it all planned even down to a stunning diamond ring and a bottle of champagne," she recalls.

Inspired by the location of their engagement - and the heavenly backdrop of Tiggi's country family home and wedding venue, Coombe Trenchard - the mood of romance was echoed beautifully through every element of their day.



"Our wedding day was influenced by a combination of things we love - such as Seb's family being French and our love for Italy and Devon", explains Tiggi. "I had dreams of long elegant dining tables with hanging festoon lighting and dancing under the stars." Opting for a mood of relaxed elegance, the palette of antique dusky pink, steely lavender and champagne was carried in the dreamy array of details, most notably the gorgeous arrangements of British country garden style flowers. Tiggi's form-fitting ivory lace gown also reflected the elegant aesthetic.



Their highly personal ceremony at St Peters Church in Lewtrenchard included family readings and a special prayer from Tiggi's grandmother, while Seb's stirring selection of music featured Ludovico Einaudi's 'I Giorni' for Tiggi's grand entrance.




Aromatic rosemary and lavender scented the drinks reception and marquee space as guests marvelled at views towards Dartmoor from the Italian terrace and enjoyed live gypsy jazz courtesy of Swingology. Seated at gorgeously styled tables beneath floral chandeliers, they dined on a French-inspired menu of summer salad of herbs, edible flowers, courgette blossom, roasted Vulscombe cheese and pancetta followed by rump of lamb with rosemary and lavender herb crust and a medley of mini desserts. "The wedding breakfast was delicious and served in the unhurried Mediterranean fashion that we all love," Tiggi reflects.





The newly-weds led their guests into the newly renovated Coach House courtyard for the evening party. Complete with a transparent roof, festoon lights and a multitude of candles, the setting saw Tiggi's visions of dancing under the night sky become a magical reality.

"Personalising our wedding was really important to us, and so was the involvement of our family and friends," reflects Tiggi. From wedding favours of chocolate dragees from France and Penderyn Welsh whisky distilled near the village where her grandmother grew up to the wedding stationery designed by her sister-in-law and cake baked by her mother and decorated by family friend and botanical artist Marion Creasey - Tiggi's thoughtful planning ensured a handmade and heartfelt affair.



"Hand over the setting up and on-the-day coordination to someone else," she advises. "Blue Fizz coordinated all the timing, which is so essential to ensure that all we had dreamed about actually happened on the day. We didn't have to think about anything other than just enjoying our day and admiring how everything came together so well."

"But if you do forget something or if anything goes wrong on the day, it's unlikely you will even notice," she adds. "You will be having the best day of your lives."
