Cake creative Christine Jenson of Peboryon has just returned from one of Cornwall's most famous festivals with something of a sweet tale to tell.

Having been invited to partake in the Fodder & Flower Show at Port Eliot Festival, Christine designed and produced a decidedly different and show-stopping cake that saw the crowds gather in awe-inspired amazement.

Dubbed 'Pingoo the Flamingoo' by her children, the elaborate creation comprised a double-decker carrot cake with cream cheese filling, golden chocolate legs and a fondant quill, which secured her win of The Kitchen Cup for Best in Show - and a congratulatory handshake from Rick Stein to boot!

Of her uber quirky, eye-catching efforts, she commented: "When creating this cake for Port Eliot Festival, it had to be more than delicious. It had to reflect the creative, stylish and thoroughly quirky nature of Port Eliot. It's definitely the cake I've smiled at the most!"
