Midwinter Spirit

Wedding styling: Celtic winter

Pagan roots and Celtic traditions lend a suggestion of Cornish-inspired wild winter energy

Wild and natural, on the cliffs at the end of the land, this styled shoot is inspired by the Celtic Winter Solstice. In keeping with the pagan roots of the Celtic culture, the rugged styling lends itself to ancient customs, seasonal blooms and embracing nature in all its unkempt, windswept and inhibited glory.
A cosy winter set-up at Boho Cornwall is complemented by the two outdoor locations of Porthgwarra Beach and the Nine Maidens, an ancient stone circle. The Celtic spirit is strong here, enhanced by authentic gowns and jewels, together with the brides' free-flowing hair and pale skin. The rings are cast with sand from the shores of nearby Sennen, while the wild wreath and pottery inspired by the stag, thistle and tree of life bring the connection of nature married with the beauty of Celtic tradition.
