Boscundle Manor, the luxurious country house hotel near St Austell in Cornwall, has been awarded a prestigious second AA Rosette.

The AA Rosette scheme is internationally recognised with a strong reputation for identifying the very best restaurants across the UK.

To achieve two AA Rosettes puts Boscundle in the top five per cent of hotels nationally and reflects its outstanding cuisine. The standards are not awarded lightly. AA Inspectors visit the venue unannounced and check all aspects of food sourcing, preparation, nutrition, creativity and presentation.

Boscundle Manor Sharon Parker said she was absolutely delighted when she learned they had been awarded the second Rosette. "It really is the most fabulous news and a wonderful accolade for the talent and efforts of our head chef Jenny Reed together with our sous chef Adam Gerrish and commis chef Chris Lean," said Sharon.

"They have all worked so hard for this result. It is also a real endorsement for fresh West Country produce - we are proud to be Cornish and more than 75% of all the food we use is sourced locally. We make everything including sauces from scratch.

"Jenny has devised some truly unique menu ideas that not only impressed the AA inspector but are attracting interest nationwide. To receive this official recognition is just wonderful and reflects on the calibre and enthusiasm of our entire team."

Boscundle Manor, with its lovely spa and glamorous wedding facilities, also now has the official AA three star rating with an 82% merit score, higher than last year.

Boscundle Manor's two AA rosette restaurant is open to non-residents and offers full a la carte and table d'hôte menus and also has an innovative tasting menu. With candles, low lighting and elegant glassware, the restaurant is open seven nights a week for dinner.
