North Devon’s award winning Highbullen Hotel, Golf and Country Club is offering brides-to-be a free dinner for two and a 25% discount on overnight stays when they book a viewing of The Palazzo, the hotel’s brand new functions and events venue, which is suitable for parties of up to 400 people.

The Palazzo, which officially opened in November, is the only venue of its kind in the South West.  Built to reflect the county’s Roman past, The Palazzo has been created following the Tuscan order of architecture, giving the venue exceptional detailing including frescoes, arcades of pillars and two stunning cupolas, which can be seen throughout the rooms within the venue. There is even a horse and chariot at the entrance to the building, offering unique and playful photographic opportunities.

In contrast to its classical styling, The Palazzo offers the latest in state-of-the-art innovation, from its audio-visual systems, lighting and sound to integral scent atomisers - so the venue can be perfumed according to individual preference.

This blend of Roman classical lines, opulent glamour and innovation make The Palazzo the perfect choice for brides wanting to host a stand out destination wedding, whether they are looking to entertain 24-280 guests at a sit down function, or up to 400 for a cocktail-style event.

The hotel’s wedding team works alongside the bridal party to create the right styling, menu and entertainment for each event.  The hotel is also licensed (inside and out) for weddings, meaning it can manage every detail on site.  The Manor House, built in an arts and crafts style, is a spectacular backdrop for photographs and also has smaller spaces ideal for tea-parties, drinks with bridesmaids or ushers, and the award winning Devon View Restaurant can host pre-wedding night dinners.

Highbullen is ideal for destination weddings in particular, as the hotel offers 36 bedrooms across its 125-acre estate, and has just added a new uber-luxury Loft Suite complete with infra-red sauna, steam room, monsoon shower, 3D TV and double ended bath in the master bedroom; perfect for a newly wedded couple’s first night.

“The Palazzo makes us one of the most exciting wedding venues in the South West,” comments Ronnie Orr, Resort Director of Highbullen which was recently awarded Best Large hotel in Devon at the Devon Tourism award. “We are inviting brides and grooms to come to the resort, meet the team, sample our award winning restaurant and discover the magic of Highbullen. It’s a tantalising mix of classic Tuscan architecture located in spectacular Devonian countryside, with the guarantee of award winning hospitality – an exciting combination, but don`t take my word for it, come and see for yourselves.”
