This 16th century manor house is tucked away in a picturesque valley in the rolling South Hams countryside. As you wind your way along the drive, the elegant frontage of the house peeps out from a patchwork of fields, a cluster of trees and beautifully maintained gardens.
The interiors are sumptuous – all high ceilings, wooden panelling and grand historic features. The house has been lovingly restored to its former grandeur and a close attention to detail is reminiscent from the luxe drapes to the intricate plasterwork at the ceilings.
This secluded corner of Devon makes a timeless and utterly tranquil backdrop for a wedding. The venue is available on an exclusive use basis, affording you total privacy and the run of the gorgeous house and grounds for an extended period.
There is a choice of licensed rooms for a ceremony. The drawing room is a romantic setting; there’s a striking fireplace, the walls are cloaked with wooden panelling and a palette of honey and champagne lends a warm ambience. The Queen Anne restaurant is similarly atmospheric, the rich tones of the Russian pine panelling, the historic portraits and twinkling chandeliers making for a dramatic setting, perfect for a winter wedding.
For more intimate gatherings, the classic Blue Room is a light and elegant space with country views, while the spacious Kestrel Suite is perfect for large ceremonies for up to 130 guests. On a sunny day, celebrations might spill out onto the south-facing terrace, overlooking the lawns, flowerbeds and stone water fountain of the gardens.
Buckland Tout-Saints has a glittering reputation for its inventive, award-winning cuisine and commitment to sourcing fresh, local ingredients. As part of the venue’s highly personalised ethos, the chef will create a bespoke menu for an individual wedding breakfast. From a reception for a chosen few in the Blue Room to a feast for 100 guests in the Kestrel Suite, you can look forward to a meal rich in flavour and culinary flair. Up to 200 guests can be catered for during the evening reception.
There are 16 bedrooms, each classically styled and comfortable. The light and airy south-facing rooms are particularly romantic for the wedding night. Wake in a four-poster bed to the whisper of nature, glorious views across the valley and a decadent touch of old world charm. Bliss.
