Natalie and Martin's exotic, sun-kissed wedding at Chagford

The exotic, sun-kissed mood of Natalie and Martin's wedding couldn't have been in starker contrast from the scene of their engagement. At the end of a holiday in Cawsand, Martin insisted they visit Whitsand Bay on their way home. A scene of thick sea fog, heavy rain and blustering winds greeted them, but it didn't deter Martin from dropping to one knee in the mud and asking Natalie to marry him. "The weather was so bad and sea so rough we couldn't actually get down to the beach," she recalls. "The day before was gloriously hot weather!"

Natalie, who runs wedding planning business, Jolly Good Wedding, designed a dazzling event in a field near her home in Chagford. The style factor was in full force throughout. Natalie's lace gown was completed with a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and a bespoke Kye Tew headdress, while Martin donned a custom-made tweed jacket specially made by a tailor in Dubai.

The church ceremony provided a particularly memorable moment. "I corrected Martin when he was saying his vows! No one has let me forget that!" says Natalie. After the vows, everyone moved onto a brilliant Bollywood style reception that mashed Moroccan with country influences for an individually styled party.

Buddha Bar music set the tone as guests supped on Pimm's and Otter Beer and relaxed in the scattering of hay bales, Moroccan cushions and beanbags or tried their luck at a range of garden games. Inside their Mughal tent, the flowers - a gorgeous riot of yellow, peach and pink blooms by Laura Hingston Flowers - carried the aesthetic in beautifully vibrant style. "The table plan - a display of ombre sweet peas - individually displayed the guests' names and table names. It had a real wow factor," comments Natalie.

A lip-smacking Lebanese menu presented the delicious likes of tabbouleh, fattoush, soujak and jawenah, with a macaroon tower completing the unforgettable feast; guests also created their own blend of tea from the range of tea leaves served.

"We had a separate round tent with the bar, chill-out sofas and sheeshas, as well as a photo booth in the evening," says Natalie. "Then it was non-stop dancing and smoking sheeshas!" DJ Bret Gilman from HYBRD Entertainment provided the party tunes, keeping the vibe alive into the small hours.

Looking back at their wow-worthy day, Natalie fondly recalls the moment her Dad first saw her in her dress as one of her most treasured memories, while Martin lists the newly-weds' dance-off as his own personal highlight.

"Remember to take some time out during the day to take it all in but also just to spend some quality time with each other," advises Natalie. "And make sure your suppliers are aware of what you expect of them on the day - you don't want things missed or misunderstood."
