In response to the current climate of responsible and quality food sourcing,  St Agnes based pizzeria The Cornish Pizza Company, has announced a long-term partnership with local butcher, Bateman's, who will now provide their fresh cooked meat.

Over the summer, the award winning pizza company ran a trial with a special pizza featuring Bateman's home made spicy Italian style pork sausage, and also featuring fennel seeds, Gran Pedano cheese, fresh red chilli and finished with fresh rocket.

The trial was a huge success with customers clamouring for the tasty pizza and delighted with knowing the meat came from freely ranging Cornish pigs sourced from St Agnes' third generation butcher, Tony Bateman. They have now extended their range to include fresh, cooked chicken breast and chilli beef from Bateman's Butchers.

Co-owner Jon Crwys-Williams explains the benefits of using a local butcher: "Tony Bateman visits local farms to source his animals and therefore we are receiving the best quality, free range meat.  He's an award-winning butcher in his own right and his own recipe sausages and spicy beef are absolutely delicious.  Plus, we can see his butchers from our shop, so sourcing our meat from Tony means zero road miles!"

The Cornish Pizza Company are available to cater at weddings using their vintage VW camper van to cook piping hot fresh pizza, using Cornish ingredients to guarantee a supremely top tasting day.
