Holly and Mark's winter wedding at The Green

Holly and Mark met in Sydney while independently travelling in Australia, before meeting up again a few times during their travels. "Once we were both back in England we remained friends but, with me living in Cornwall and Mark in Stamford, it wasn't until he got a job in Devon that we finally got together and Mark moved down to Cornwall a year later," smiles Holly.

The couple decided they wanted a relaxed 'all-in-one-place' venue and, after a viewing of The Green, they knew it was the one and booked for 23rd January.

Opting for a rustic wintery theme including lots of natural wood, greenery, pine cones and hessian, Holly chose a simple selection of gypsophila, white roses, thistles and foliage which her friend, Kirstie, turned into beautiful bouquets and table decorations. "We raided friends' gardens for ivy to decorate the ceremony barn," she adds. "My dad made some amazing wooden pieces (including our fabulous guest book and all the place settings) and mum made the bunting - all 50+ metres of it!"

A pair of navy blue lace Christian Louboutins inspired the colour scheme. "Once I found these, everything else had to fit around them!" laughs Holly. The bridesmaids wore cream and navy lace tea dresses, while the bridal gown was a beautiful French lace number which was short enough to show off those fabulous shoes!

Mark looked the part in a navy woollen blazer and waistcoat, which he teamed with dark red trousers and a navy dickie bow, while his groomsmen all rocked navy woollen suits.

The entertainment proved to be one of the day's highlights. Holly's sister, Freya, and best friend, Jo, had arranged for Dave White to fly halfway across the world to perform as a surprise. "He's a friend of ours from Sydney who used to play in our favourite bar, which is where Mark and I first met!" says Holly. He lent an extra personal touch to the ceremony, singing 'Marry Me' by Train as Holly walked down the aisle, which was followed by the exchange of their personalised vows.

The party started as soon as the mulled wine and cider had warmed the cockles. "One of the highlights of the day was Dave belting out Oasis and the dance floor being in full swing," remembers Holly. After a feast of sharing platters and cake, the evening reception saw Dave fill the dance floor once again, alongside live band, V8. "We ended the night with one of my favourites: Take That's 'Never Forget.' It really was a moment I will remember forever!" says Holly. "Mark and I surrounded by a circle of our closest friends and family all dancing and singing our hearts out - the perfect end to the most perfect day!"
