Having met while working together on a fashion shoot in Tenerife, the pair's engagement followed the same oceanic theme with a proposal on a deserted Sri Lankan beach. "I thought we were going to a Buddhist temple for the evening! We got to the beach and a turtle appeared, which my friends watched for two hours while the sun started to set," reveals Philly. "Alan asked to go for a walk and I thought nothing of it - we are always at the beach! He proposed under a palm tree as the sun set, with my friends hiding in the bush taking photos!"
Designing the day with a marine-inspired palette of blues and peach, Philly's boho gown perfectly set the tone for the place and people involved, with the bridesmaids dressed in a gorgeous oyster shade and the groomsmen oozing cool sophistication in beige trousers with crisp white shirts and braces.
The ceremony space was dressed to mirror the breezy aesthetic of the day, giving sea glimpses of picturesque Lusty Glaze beach beyond as Philly and Alan uttered their vows.
Canapes, drinks and live music greeted guests as they spilled out onto the sands and played beach games before tucking into a barbecue-style wedding breakfast featuring falafels, prawns, fishcakes, hummus and pita, and barbecued chicken.
Sea dips, fun and games, more live music from speakeasy duo The Belle Adventure, and a fabulous DJ set kept the beach party in full swing under the stars.
Looking back, Philly highlights how fast the day unfolds and urges other couples to take time to enjoy it. "Slow down - it goes so quickly." she says. "And don't focus on the little things!" she adds.
