Bright And Beautiful

Sammi and Tom's sunny beachside wedding at Lusty Glaze

After meeting 15 years previously at an under-18s club in Southend-on-Sea, Sammi and Tom remained good friends before eventually becoming a couple some years later on a group holiday to Zante.

Sammi and Tom stumbled across their wedding venue, Lusty Glaze, after a weekend away in Cornwall, completely falling in love with the beachside location on the horseshoe-shaped cove. "It suited us perfectly," says Sammi. "We booked it that week without even looking at any other venues."

To complement the outdoor setting, Sammi chose to accent their day with the colours of sunset. "Pink and orange are a favourite combo of mine, so we worked with that and we were very lucky to have a beautiful sunset on the day," she says. Fitting the theme, her bridesmaids wore pretty coral-coloured dresses, while Sammi chose a vintage-style number - the first dress she tried on. Her beautiful flower crown carried the bright, sunny mood of the day perfectly.

Arriving at the venue in a Bentley - "Tom's dad had recently bought one!" says Sammi - everything went exactly to plan for the happy couple. "That was because of the help we had from the weddings team at Lusty Glaze," says Sammi. "They set up our decor in the morning and helped guide our guests from their pre-drinks to the ceremony and back out on to the beach. We couldn't have done it without them."

Lucking out with the most amazing bright-sun-and-blue-sky day helped the bride, groom and all their guests to have an amazing time. "I loved greeting all of our guests after the ceremony as they walked out to the beach," says Sammi. A good friend of the couple then played a few acoustic sets throughout the day. "Because we were so lucky with the weather, it was like a mini private festival," says Sammi. "Even though we've heard Nathan play numerous times before in local venues, it was different in the cove and we found it quite emotional."

After feasting on pork and pineapple skewers, marinated barbecue prawns, corn on the cob and sweet potato fries, another friend of the couple hit the decks after sunset and provided the evening tunes. Describing how her day evolved, Sammi says, "When it comes to the details, just do what you want, and when it all comes together at the end you will have a wedding day that reflects you as a couple. I wouldn't over think it too much."
