Emily and Tim could be described as true childhood sweethearts, having started dating when Emily was 15. The couple met in North Cornwall surfing hotspot Polzeath, a place that Emily is “lucky enough to call home”. Tim was often in the village on surfing trips and the pair had many mutual friends. After 11 years together, they tied the knot in the pretty setting of St Minver Church.
The bride splurged on a pair of exquisite Gina shoes for the big day. “They were a complete indulgence and a real treat. Completely beautiful, I still love them,” enthuses Emily. The shoes perfectly complimented her elegant Pronovias dress from Harrods and the stunning floral arrangements from Bruallen, which made for a simple yet striking monochrome theme.
The couple also splashed out on their photographer, Emma Solley. “She captured the day perfectly by making the couple shots fun whilst also being discrete throughout the day, creating a collection of images that will be treasured forever,” comments Emily.

After the ceremony, family and friends celebrated the nuptials at Hustyns Resort and Hotel in St Breock Downs, where guests supped on champagne and dined on coppa salad and coq au vin, while a live band provided the entertainment. The couple decided against a traditional British wedding cake, instead opting for a dramatic croquembouche: a tower of decorated profiteroles, which is a popular feature at French wedding celebrations.

After the nuptials, the newlyweds jetted off to the US for an active honeymoon, where they embarked on a Californian road trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Emily comments, “It was the trip of a lifetime and so much fun”.

Reflecting on her wedding day, she finds it impossible to pick a favourite moment. “I enjoyed every minute, from getting ready to our vows to the reception. Celebrating our wedding with all our friends around us was the most special gift of all’.

Their advice to future brides and grooms is simple, “It’s your special day, so don’t be afraid to do it your way”.
