Business morphed into pleasure for Jacqui and Alex after they met through their respective businesses, sparking a romance that led to a fairytale wedding at Bovey Castle.

The men kicked off the day with an early round of golf whilst Jacqui watched the falconry display, welcomed guests and prepared herself for the civil ceremony.
Wedding at Bovey Castle DevonJacqui’s bespoke dress was a beautiful vision of ivory silk taffeta with embroidered Swarovski crystals, designed by Torquay-based Dizzie Lizzie Couture. Getting the dress on, however, provoked much hilarity: “It took three people to help me to get into it!” she laughs.
Wedding at Bovey Castle DevonShe held a bouquet of fuchsia pink flowers, which tied in with the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen’s cravats. Perfect for the season, the pretty aesthetic looked stunning against the dramatic setting of the Cathedral Room which was adorned with splashes of fuchsia pink, from the chair cover sashes to the flowers.
Wedding at Bovey Castle DevonSinger Tyrone Piper provided the stirring soundtrack to the ceremony, performing “an eclectic mix of music from Elvis to opera”, while the couple’s seven-year-old son James poignantly read a poem. “This was one of our favourite moments of the day,” says Jacqui.
Wedding at Bovey Castle Devon A champagne and canapé reception followed on the terrace before the lavish wedding breakfast was served. Guests tucked into gravadlax with soft boiled egg, anchovies beignet and dill-marinated potatoes followed by roast rump of lamb and a tantalising mango cheesecake, white chocolate caramel and mango sorbet.
Roy Carter – formerly of the band ‘Heatwave’ – provided the live evening entertainment and bacon baps were later handed out with the wedding cake for a late night feast.
Wedding at Bovey Castle Devon After honeymooning in The Atlantis Hotel on Dubai’s infamous Palm Jumeirah Island, the couple returned to embark upon married life together.
Reflecting on their day, Jacqui cites one of her favourite moments as: “Getting into the back of the golf buggy in my wedding dress to be taken down to the grounds for a photo shoot!” She adds, “Seeing our five children, ranging from the ages of seven to 24, taking a leading role during the day made us very proud and emotional.”
