Beach Belles

A small gathering at a mutual friend’s house led to love between Dani and Dave. Five years later, they tied the knot in a beachside ceremony at The Esplanade Hotel in Pentire.

Opting for a beach theme with teal as the main tone, the details drew on the oceanic surrounds for inspiration. Dani donned a gorgeous Allure dress whilst the bridesmaids wore gowns handmade by her mum.

The morning was a very relaxed affair. Dave and his best men enjoyed a round of pitch and putt while Dani relished the downtime, “l lounged around in my pyjamas, chilling and waiting for my hair and make-up artist appointment with Victoria Penrose, who made me look a million dollars!” However, she recalls how quickly the morning disappeared: “I was running so late I forgot my something old, something borrowed and something blue!”

The ceremony took place before spectacular views of the coastline, which proved a welcome distraction for Dani, “It took my mind off all the people that were watching me!” she says.

The wedding breakfast was “absolutely delicious”, satisfying appetites with its sumptuous range of courses from vegetable soup and pâté with melba toast to loin of pork with thyme, lemon and apricot stuffing and shallot sauce, and stuffed aubergine glazed with smoked cheese. Then came a choice of Black Forest gateau or apple pie and the “short and sweet” speeches.

A casino proved popular early evening entertainment; the newlyweds played blackjack and roulette before the cutting of the cake and the first dance. Guests partied to disco tunes until 1pm, though Dani admits that she was so exhausted, “I was in bed by 11pm!”

She has some advice for other couples, “As far as organising the wedding goes, sometimes things go wrong – but remember, it’s your perfect day and have fun!” She adds, “We are both still as happy and in love as when we first met and being married has concreted that. Enjoy it.”
