Jennifer and Trevor met in unusual circumstances: he interviewed her for a job at Dingles (now House of Fraser) in Plymouth back in 2001!
The morning of their wedding dawned with glorious sunshine and Jennifer woke at 5.30am in excitement; champagne flowed as the bridal party busied themselves making their preparations.
The beautiful service took place in the picturesque setting of St Werburgh’s Church, “There were a few tears, many smiles and a wonderful cheer once we were pronounced man and wife”, says Jennifer.

The couple hired Langdon Court on an exclusive use basis. A string quartet heralded their arrival at the venue, and guests supped on Prosecco accompanied by a selection of canapés. The wedding breakfast included leek and potato soup followed by traditional roast chicken with game chips and bread sauce and white chocolate cheesecake with iced raspberries for dessert.

The two best men, Andrew and Matt, prepared something very special for the speech. “Robbie Scotcher, who was the lead in the Blood Brothers tour at the time, pretended to be a waiter for the duration of the meal. As Andrew and Matt started the speech, Robbie interrupted and proceeded to sing a song written about Trevor to the tune of ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ by Oasis.

In homage to their engagement in Jamaica, Jennifer and Trevor chose ‘Is This Love?’ by Bob Marley for their first dance. This kick started a lively evening of dancing and laughter; the music came courtesy of a DJ and band provided by local record label fiftypointfour, while a table magician added to the entertainment and a hog roast satisfied peckish guests.
The couple shortly departed on an exotic honeymoon: four days in Hong Kong followed by ten days in Bali.

“Take a few special moments throughout the course of the day for a short period together, just to reflect, look around and take on board the incredible occasion,” Jennifer advises other couples. “Your wedding does not end at the end of the night,” she adds, “The day will be in your heart and those of your friends and family for many years to come and will always raise a smile and good feeling.”
