Whirlwind Wedding

A stunning summer's day provided the backdrop to Sophie and George's relaxed and intimate wedding, while an array of fuchsia flowers enhanced the exotic feel of the celebration.



After a ceremony at St Erth Parish Church, the pair stopped off for impromptu drinks at their local pub. “There were some very surprised faces and we ended up being given the drinks on the house!” Sophie recalls.



The couple then had some scenic photos taken at Prussia Cove – the location of their engagement – before stopping off at home for a relaxed interlude prior to an evening reception at Rosewarne Manor.



Guests dined on a banquet of different foods. Starting with baked Gevrik goats cheese with peppered strawberries, rocket and endive salad with a basil and pine nut oil, they then enjoyed steamed fillets of locally caught sole stuffed with Newlyn white crab, oyster mushrooms and fresh herbs on a light white wine sauce. Dark chocolate and plum tart with clotted cream concluded the fabulous feast.



The newlyweds enjoyed a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon, taking in a variety of stops in the USA, Mexico and Haiti.



Sophie reflects on the planning process. “We were engaged on 15th March and married on 4th June so we didn't have long to plan the wedding. I think this worked in our favour as we had to make decisions quickly and didn't have time to dwell on tiny details.” This decisive approach even extended to one of the most crucial details: the dress. “It took me about 20 minutes to choose and I knew it was the right one as soon as I put it on”.



She has wise words for other couples in the midst of planning: “Don't get obsessed with having the 'perfect' day and trying to please everybody – just do what is best for the two of you and everything else will fall into place.”
