Thanks to the support of their fantastic family and friends, it was a case of all hands on deck to ensure Nikki and Ben had a wonderful wedding day. A whole community of helpers came together to help decorate the marquee for a celebration with a creative and highly personal twist.
The ceremony took place in Feock Church, a hugely significant setting for Ben, who was christened there. The marquee site was equally idyllic: close family friends, Tim, Mary and Flo from Feock Garage, kindly permitted the use of their land – an idyllic spot with views across Devoran and the river.
Opting for a ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ theme, the marquee was decorated with a colourful medley of pinks and lilacs, and a bountiful array of wild flowers arranged by Ben’s godmother. The effect was pure fairytale: strings of bunting and hundreds of butterflies, handmade by Nikki, added to the charm, while the vivid hues of the foxgloves tied in with the magenta pink of the bridesmaid dresses to stunning effect.

The wedding breakfast was plentiful and delicious: guests tucked into a fish barbecue alongside a variety of meat and deli dishes, vegetable kebabs, couscous and falafels.

Live band Kabasa set the tone for an “amazing party”, bringing incredible energy and a funky feel good vibe with their Latin American grooves, a twist of Jazz and smouldering Flamenco. After their “amazing party”, the couple jetted off to the sun-kissed shores of Bali for a holiday of surfing, diving and relaxation.

Nikki has wise words for couples at the planning stage, “Make sure you have a really good team around you – it’s so important.” She adds, “Expect at least one thing to go wrong, but stay calm. Just let everything unfold and trust that it will sort itself out.”
