Having first met in a “shocking” nightclub in London, Keda and Dan exchanged numbers and went on a few dates. Over a month later, Dan was involved in a car accident; Keda immediately travelled from Cornwall to visit him in London and romance blossomed for the smitten pair.
On their wedding day, the couple tucked into pasties and champagne before heading to Busveal Chapel for their ceremony. Although they didn’t plan a colour scheme, a theme of blue and silver grey developed, inspired by their seaside setting.

“My family walked me to the ceremony and we even brought the family puppy along, dressed in a blue ribbon,” says Keda. The ceremony was an intimate gathering before their immediate family. Afterwards, they joined the rest of their guests at Gwennap Pit for a blessing, which included readings and the exchanging of the rings.

Everyone hopped on King Harry buses bound for The Blue Bar in Porthtowan where the wedding feast included vegetable lasagne, crab cakes, lemon and thyme chicken and stuffed peppers followed by Eton mess and a cheese board. Keda's sister made the wedding cake and cupcakes from an indulgent mix of white chocolate and raspberries. “We didn't have a seating plan due to the style of food,” says Keda. “Dinner wasn't formal, so people could sit where they liked and eat when they liked. This was great!”

Guests munched on old-fashioned pick and mix sweets wedding favours and dined on a late supper of fish and chips while the couple's iPod provided an eclectic play list of tunes. “I actually loved doing the music and everyone danced all night!”

The party continued the next day with a marquee party and hog roast at Keda’s parents’ house. Keda highly recommends extending the celebrations: “Arrange something for the next day. It takes the pressure off speaking to everyone on the day when actually you just want to have fun!” The couple enjoyed four days in the Isles of Scilly before returning to their home in Dubai via a trip to Malaysia.

Their top tips? “Let your bridesmaids wear something they really like! I wouldn't have minded if they had worn different dresses in the same colour or the same dress in different colours, as it’s important they look comfortable”. Keda adds, “So many people said to us how lovely it was to have such a relaxed day. I think we had quite a few raised eyebrows that we weren't being as traditional as perhaps we 'should' be, but we wanted something that represented us.”
