New events barn at Launcells Barton

Launcells Barton, a family-owned Grade II listed manor house near Bude, is full of historic charm, having been an old dairy farm within the same family since 1949. And now this old-world charm has been fused with the contemporary, thanks to a sophisticated new events barn, built to host your celebration.

Opening in April 2017, the glorious new reception barn is being built using reclaimed farm items (endless timber from the old barns and even a mahogany organ reincarnated as a bar!). There will be space for up to 200 seated guests and an additional 150 evening guests; a dedicated bar and lounge area, plus a catering kitchen.

"We wanted to combine English country charm with a rustic farm feel, to create the perfect atmosphere for couples and their guests to relax throughout their special day," explain owners Matthew Stokes and Lara Gill. The couple have designed the new events barn to ensure couples enjoy an effortless wedding day, where their guests can access the bar and reception lobby without seeing the main seating area first, meaning the unveiling of each evening event, and all those hours of planning little touches that are just so, remain a secret until the very last moment.

Despite all the work that has gone into designing this fantastic new space, flexibility still remains at its core, so the neutral seating area means couples can decorate it however they wish.

Together with the lovingly restored Georgian manor house, a licensed outdoor walled ceremony garden and guest accommodation on-site - all wrapped up in a secluded and romantic rural setting - Launcells Barton looks set to be one of Cornwall's dreamiest wedding venues.
