Taking inspiration from the Far East, this Japanese-themed styled shoot melds dramatic dresses with cascading blossoms
Moving away from a traditional Cornish wedding shoot, Janie Wolverson of The Lucky Sixpence decided to seek inspiration from the Far East for this garden wedding with a Japanese twist."The Japanese Garden in St Mawgan provides the perfect backdrop for the shoot, with blossom alongside green and russet-coloured leaves," she says. Enhanced by the Japanese-style bridges and pagodas, an embellished table setting sees ceramic pottery atop a low table, with chopsticks, napkins and delicately painted crockery bringing a flavour of the east.
The two dresses from Christine Trewinnard draw inspiration from the region, with one gown featuring a cappuccino kimono lace, and the second combining ivory tulle with sequins and an obi sash. The look culminates in a bright and cascading bouquet and an epic design-forward headpiece. "The wedding bouquet was designed to match the headpiece. The two pieces seem to flow into each other," says Toby Lowe, who photographed the shoot. The incredible floral headpiece embraces everything stunning about the location, from the incredibly pretty blossom to the adorned paper fan and striking make-up to match. Pinks, reds and blacks spark off each other to provide a pop of drama to the look, turning heads with its spectacle of Japanese beauty.-
