Even in the depths of winter, there's plenty to do here in the far west: exhilarating walks along the sands of nearby Sennen beach before dining on local fish overlooking the surf at Ben Tunnicliffe (benatsennen.com); exploring Cape Cornwall and the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site (Keyvnor View is in the heart of 'Poldark' country); or head to the picture-postcard town of St Ives for a stroll around the galleries and dinner at one of its many foodie hotspots.
