As Evening Falls

Take a sneak peek at this stunning styled shoot 'As Evening Falls', that features in our latest Devon issue.

Orchestrated by Bridget from Blue Fizz Events, it beautifully showcases some seriously spellbinding decor and dresses alongside the shoot's location of Westcott Barton, as Bridget explains. "It's nestled deep in the folds of the North Devon countryside within easy reach of main routes, yet it gives you a feeling of being in your own world. The barn is authentic and timelessly rustic set in green lush rolling hills with a stream and room for our traditional Blue Fizz Events Canvas Marquee in amongst its grounds."

"We set about creating a dreamlike theme for our twilight and candlelight shoot. The early evenings that descend in the winter months give brides and grooms a host of options for atmospheric lighting. We created a magical feel with the flickering candles and the firefly jars to entrance your guests at any mid winter gathering. The beautifully crafted rustic furniture was supplied by Virginia's Vintage Hire, which we adorned with simple crockery against the raw wood and let the stunning centrepiece steal the scene."

"Florist Emma Hewlett combined mosses, textures and succulents to provide the ethereal living runner on the table. I embedded the tiny flickering tea lights amongst the foliage and greenery to enhance the otherworldly feel. Alongside the stunning bouquet, Emma also created large hoops of tangled stems and vines and a natural garland from eucalyptus. The final touches on the table were from English Rose Stationary with a touch of metallics to shimmer in the light."

"The cake was provided by Claire at Claire's Sweet Temptations who picked up on the gentle palette of just a dash of rose pink, pale gold and grey green. The mix of textures and soft metallics also came together on this stunning cake."

"Our beautiful model Jasmine Palmer was dressed by Linda from Days of Grace who selected the delicate and almost-sheer vintage lace dress that I teamed up with a lace crop top and petticoat to reveal just enough skin through its geometric and tactile pattern.
Jasmine is also a talented make-up artist (working under the name of jasmineellemakeup). She created her own look on the day: a soft but strong eye and brow with a quintessential English rose complexion. Jasmine's hair was a gentle braided and curled up do cleverly undertaken by Bridgette Fisher to create a soft and modern textured look."

"Our dashing groom Ray wears a mix of tones and tweeds from Samuel Dawes and Co. By mixing the blends of tweeds and tones you can create a subtle mismatched look that is very 'on trend '."

"The stunning images were captured through the lens of Amber at Liberty Pearl Photography, bringing a natural yet inspiring feel to the shoot. Natural light and an eye for natural poses worked well alongside our ideas for a very beautiful and enticing shoot to help inspire brides and grooms to choose the winter months for their special day all set against the flickering candlelight and rustic stone walls."
