A sun-dappled clifftop celebration at Ocean Kave

Saturday 15th July 2018 was the most important date in the year for Kirstie and Emyln - not because it was the Football World Cup final, but as it was their wedding day at Ocean Kave.

When the couple booked their wedding day back in September 2017, nobody had any idea that Southgate's boys were going to do so well in the 2018 World Cup. As the summer progressed, it looked more and more possible that the  England squad could reach the final of the 2018 World Cup, meaning that Kirstie and Emlyn could potentially be sharing their day with one of the biggest footballing events since 1966!

"It's not usually something that the Ocean Kave wedding planning events team usually needs to cover during our wedding planning meetings!" says owner Kathy. "Here at Ocean Kave we always have back-up plans to every situation, so we had made provisions for a giant screen to be hooked up for the final if required! The bride was so calm and collected and handled the situation perfectly."

On the day, the bride prepared for her grand entrance to the venue in the five-star bridal suite, Kala's Cottage. Looking simply beautiful in a vintage lace dress with a stunning scoop back design, Kirstie's bridesmaids wore blue dresses with beautiful hand-tied posies. As the bride was escorted up the aisle by her proud father, there was not a dry eye in sight.

"Kirstie was the epitome of grace and elegance as she walked towards her dashing groom who was anxiously waiting for her at the altar," says Kathy.

The ceremony was followed by canapes and prosecco on the lawn, the clear blue skies and summer sunshine providing the ideal backdrop. Much to everyone's relief the wedding cake was not adorned with three lions, instead the couple commissioned a fabulous two-tier cake with a nautical theme and gorgeous little starfish sitting on the top.

Guests were then treated to a three-course barbecue, alongside plenty of love, laughter and bubbles! The couple enjoyed every second of their day and partied into the night, stopping only to have some sunset photographs taken. "Their day radiated happiness and love and we wish them a future filled with laughter," says the Ocean Kave team.
