Wedding at Trebah Gardens

A Cornish Extravaganza

Lisa was keen to combine her ‘pink and beautiful' wedding theme with a potent Cornish flavour. Cornish language was included in the invites and Order of Service, Lisa's brothers wore Cornish hunting tartan with ‘Proper Cornish' boxers underneath, and the groom's party received Cornish tin cufflinks as gifts.

A locally sourced menu, bubbly from Camel Valley, local fudge favours, black and white umbrellas to fend off a brief spell of rain and Lisa's father's ‘Oggy Oggy' toast enhanced the Cornish theme further.

The setting of Trebah Gardens fitted in perfectly with the ‘pink and beautiful' theme, with its array of blooms and idyllic backdrop. The bouquets, cake and table arrangements were full of gorgeous pink peonies and hydrangeas.

En route to Kenwyn Church in a Princess Limousine, Lisa realised she had forgotten the bouquets; by the time she had a mobile signal, she learned that her Mum and Step Dad had been dispatched to collect them. Not one to usually be late for anything, this meant she was 40 minutes late for the service!

The guests travelled to Trebah by King Harry Coaches; on arrival, the party walked through the beautiful gardens to the beach where they enjoyed Camel Valley and canapés. The meal of Cornish smoked mackerel salad, Trebah chicken, fresh fruit and meringues came with a piano soundtrack from Paul Simmons. A disco revved up the evening celebrations and after the party the newly weds joined their guests on the coach back to Truro.

Lisa's parents threw a barbecue the following day, while Lisa and Tom left for a honeymoon in Tuscany. Lisa comments, "The atmosphere was perfect. We truly had a day that we will never forget".
