From a night out with friends to a big bash with guests from all over the world, Naomi and Louis’ union was a marvellous match. Owing their meeting to a mutual friend, the couple ensured their wedding day incorporated every personal touch from the people in their lives.
No moment was left untouched by sentimental value or individual flair. Their close friend, Gaye Lush, painted two pictures for them: one of the reception venue, the Rose in Vale Country House Hotel, which was used on the wedding invitations, and another of Ladock Church, which they used on the Order of Service.
The noon ceremony saw 80 guests attend Ladock Church, where Naomi dazzled in a Catherine Davighi gown. The signing of the register had a stirring musical backdrop courtesy of Naomi’s cousin’s choir, Callington Gospel Choir, who also sang a lively rendition of ‘Oh Happy Day’ during the couple’s exit.

Despite the forecast of torrential rain, the weather was sunny and drinks were quaffed on the lawn at the Rose in Vale before the sumptuous wedding breakfast was served. Guests were spoiled with the likes of smoked mackerel pâté, salmon and crab fishcakes and chicken tian for starters, pan-fried breast of chicken, medallions of beef fillet and whole roasted sea bream for the main course, and desserts of bitter lemon tartlet, double chocolate tart and fresh strawberries and cream.

Live band ‘Jazz Breakdown’ provided the evening entertainment, playing ‘We Have All the Time in The World’ for the couple’s first dance. 25 Chinese wish lanterns were later released into the night sky to everyone’s delight.

With guests travelling from as far as Italy, the Cayman Islands, Spain and America – and the Vicar, Reverend Andrew Wade, having known Louis from childhood – the day was a highly memorable and personal affair.

A honeymoon of two halves took place on both Praslin Island and Dennis Island in the Seychelles, before Naomi and Louis returned to married life to reflect upon the day. “We had the perfect day and wouldn't change one thing about it,” Naomi comments.
She advises others not to get flustered by the small things: “It's really not worth worrying about them. Our bell ringers didn't turn up and I didn't even notice until Louis pointed it out to me – I was too busy enjoying the moment!”
