A mutual passion for motorbikes brought Yvonne and Nick together in January 2007. Initially a long distance relationship, Yvonne made the move from Warwickshire to Plymouth and a romantic proposal in Paris followed shortly after.
It was a case of love at first sight when the couple visited Langdon Court, and the simple elegance of the black and white colour scheme complemented the stylish interiors of the venue.
The small trifle of the wedding wasn’t the only reason it proved to be a big day for Yvonne – it was the first time in 15 years that she had worn a dress or skirt! Donning a gorgeous halter neck dress, the team from Changing Faces and Harmony Hair and Beauty ensured she looked every inch the beautiful bride. The preparations turned out to be a real family event, as Yvonne got ready with her bridesmaids, mother, sister and nieces.

The day got off to a less than smooth start for Nick. His future brother in law was driving him to Langdon Court in his Porsche Cayman S and, thanks to a flat battery, the groom and groomsmen ended up jumpstarting the car to get to the wedding!

After a moving ceremony, the celebrations kicked off in earnest. The exquisite wedding breakfast included salad of warm crispy duck with a plum vinaigrette dressing, roast turkey and Devonshire ham with game chips and bread sauce and tangy lemon cheesecake with clotted cream. The speeches were a poignant moment, particularly Yvonne's father's speech, which didn’t leave a dry eye in the room.

The entertainment catered for all: guests enjoyed a fun casino provided by Casino Select, while the tunes came courtesy of The Big Event. Not neglecting the little people, Sheila's Nannies ensured the child guests thoroughly enjoyed their day.

Shortly after the nuptials, the newly weds spent a relaxing week in west Cork and a fabulous cruise followed a few months later, taking in the sights of Acapulco, Central America, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean.
The couple look back with affection on their wedding day, “It was a relaxed and enjoyable day shared with our close friends and loved ones,” they comment. And their advice for others? “Never lose focus on why you are getting married and what the day actually means – that way you should stay relaxed about the extra details.” Yvonne adds, “Trust the professionals – you employ them to do a job, so let them do it.”
