Kirsty first met Keith when she was just 11 and he was 13. “We met through our local squash club and our love blossomed from there,” she says. “So we’re real childhood sweethearts!”
The couple chose The Great Barn as the stunning setting for their celebration and a colour scheme of aubergine with hints of chocolate and mocha. An array of calla lilies and roses complemented Kirsty’s Ian Stuart dress beautifully. Kirsty spent an excitable morning getting ready with her bridesmaids and parents. Looking gorgeous in her gown, as soon as Kirsty’s eyes fell on her dad, she knew it was going to be an emotional day!
The beautiful ceremony included two different readings from close friends and photographs followed in the pretty walled gardens, where guests enjoyed Harrods champagne and canapés.

Dartmoor Kitchen served a delicious wedding breakfast. Guests enjoyed a three-course feast with a choice of main courses including roasted ruby red sirloin rolled in herbs with dauphinoise potatoes and roast butternut squash tart with Devon Blue cheese and mustard leaf, followed by apple and brandy crumble with clotted cream and hot chocolate fondants with homemade vanilla ice cream.

After the speeches – and a few tears – live band Up4Grabs kicked off the party. Keith and Kirsty had a dance routine prepared to Train’s ‘Drops of Jupiter’, which was choreographed by their friend Michelle Lings. The five-piece band got everyone’s feet moving and Dartmoor Kitchen provided a late supper of pie and chips or cheese and homemade chutneys for those dancers who had worked up an appetite!

Delighted that their day was such a success, Keith and Kirsty departed for their honeymoon in Gloria Serenity in Belik Turkey.

Having known each other’s families since they were children, it was a really emotional day for the pair, and their utmost priority was to show everyone a fantastic time. Their top tip for those planning weddings is to find a short slot during what can be a very hectic day: “Stand to the side of the goings-on, just the two of you, and take a long look at everyone enjoying themselves. Soak up the memory together.” It seems that the day flies by so quickly that it’s important to share a little time alone, even if it’s just a few snatched moments.
