A Christmas party was the meeting place for Claire and Nigel almost six
years before wedding bells stirred the seaside surrounds of Gwithian
Parish Church. Working in different towns, it was a mutual
friend-turned-best man that initially set sparks flying between the
love-struck pair.

Claire kept Nigel standing at the altar for a whole 17 minutes before parading her stunning gown toward him, which he proudly says was, “worth the wait.”
A string quartet at the church and Pimms reception provided a classic soundtrack, later replaced by evening entertainment Pure Gold Disco, who rallied guests onto the dance floor with just the right repertoire of beats. A mouth-watering menu of smoked salmon and king prawn salad starter, followed by roast beef and seasonal vegetables and rounded off with a fresh fruit salad and cheese board kept bellies satisfied at the exclusive venue, Clowance Estate and Country Club.

The management kindly permitted the use of Clowance as a venue due to the couple's connections with the estate; a marquee on the lawn made for a stunning reception area where the frolics culminated in a show-stopping fireworks display.
Claire and Nigel only have one complaint – that it went by so quickly. “From start to finish we loved every second”, they enthuse whilst championing their photographer for being “there to capture each moment. His wonderful photos capture the day eloquently.”

Other notes to share include keeping numbers of guests down to make it a more intimate affair. During the planning process, Claire carried a notebook everywhere with her “so that every flash of inspiration could be recorded.”

The couple also recommend doing as much as you can yourselves, and involving friends and family to keep things personal. “Weddings are expensive but you can improvise and save, Claire made her own invitations and we organised our own table decorations, nametags and favours.”

Following on from their close-knit wedding, their foray into married life began with a week in the Maldivian resort of Karumba followed by two weeks in Sri Lanka.
