Matt and Louise chose an English Spring time theme for their May wedding at Boconnoc Estate. The couple, who met on holiday in Brittany, chose a colour scheme of pale pinks and greens, cream and white, which worked beautifully against their idyllic backdrop.
The wedding day dawned with glorious sunshine and their Church of England ceremony proved highly personal and full of music and laughter. There was a trumpet solo, a vocal performance and a number of readings, one of which was ‘Us Two’ from ‘When We Were Six’ by A.A. Milne about Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin.
Celtic folk band Bagas Porthia provided the soundtrack as the party processed from the church to the drinks reception on the lawn; croquet and a coconut shy amused the guests, while some even kicked off their shoes and danced in the sunshine.

Catering company Anytime Anywhere provided an excellent meal, which was served in the long hall of the house. Dishes included a quails’ egg and French bean salad, and salmon fillets with butterbean mash and roasted vegetables; the wonderful chocolate wedding cake, which was topped with summer fruits, proved a hit for dessert.

In the evening, guests tucked into a lamb spit roast and Cornish cheese board, while The Ray Rich Band played a fantastic mix of rock and roll and swing music. “Everyone danced from the first note they played!” Matt comments. The first dance went down a storm: the couple performed the Lindy Hop to Morecambe and Wise’s ‘Bring Me Sunshine’, and Louise’s beautiful 1950s style wedding dress proved perfect for the spins and turns.

The newly weds retired to the elegant surrounds of the King Charles suite for their wedding night followed by a two-part honeymoon in the Isles of Scilly and Lamorna Cove.
“There was so much music and laughter throughout the day,” the couple reflect. “Everyone seemed to have a really good time and that made it possible for us to really enjoy ourselves too.”

And their advice for future brides and grooms? “Enjoy the build up as well as the day itself. Doing things yourself is not only a good money saver, it also makes the day feel more personal.” They add, “Relax on the day and go with the flow. Surround yourself with professional people – good caterers, photographers and musicians will put your mind at ease during the day.”
