This issue marks the fifth anniversary of Wed Magazine. Five whole years have danced by since Brendan (my partner and soon to be husband!) came up with our idea for a new concept in regional wedding publishing: a big, bold magazine that would reflect the modern wedding - in all its pretty, playful and deliciously creative glory. And so Wed Magazine was born.

It's been quite a ride. The last five years have taken us to some of the most jaw-droppingly beautiful places; we've met lots of downright inspirational - and beyond lovely - people; and we've revelled in the knowledge that we get to eat, sleep and breathe a creative mission we adore here in our beloved Cornwall.

There's no denying that it's been a lot of hard work. People are always astonished when they find out how tiny our little Wed team is. But we've loved it. And, as I sit here, five years after I sat down to write my first editor's letter, my overwhelming feeling is one of gratitude to our loyal readers, advertisers and all those who have helped to make Wed happen - and pride in our wonderful wedding industry here in Cornwall. It's an awesome county to get married - so awesome, we'll be tying the knot here this year!

To mark our anniversary, we've compiled some of the prettiest wedding inspiration and weak-at-the-knees wonderful love stories yet.

Prepare to swoon over fairytale visions of frothy tulle and decadent jewels in our bridal fashion special 'Happily Ever After', which was captured in the serene setting of St Mawes. Then it's over to the flamboyant climes of Upton House in Fowey; 'Sweet Somethings' paints fantasy visions of opulent bridal gowns, glamorous cocktail frocks, china, cakes and all things pretty.

While we're on the subject of moreish mouthfuls of yumminess, Cornwall is now home to some of the country's coolest tea party experiences. We serve up the most delectable settings for a top-notch tea - and an ever-so ladylike hen party - in 'Grace and Favour'.

These silken pages also take you to some sublime secluded spots to tie the knot, from a tipi glade to an eco retreat. Coo over our covetable headwear and learn how to look like a goddess in your wedding photos. And I can certainly vouch that the guest list has been one of the most stressful jobs of my wedding planning journey to date. 'Guest Stressed?' is full of handy advice to help you navigate those potentially choppy waters!

So happy birthday to us, and happy wedding planning to you!
