4-stars for Carbis Bay Hotel, Spa & Estate

We're delighted to announce that dreamy Cornwall wedding venue, Carbis Bay Hotel, Spa & Estate, has been awarded 4 stars by the AA national recognition scheme alongside retaining their AA Rosette for culinary excellence award for their Sands Restaurant for the 16th year running. The family run estate located in Carbis Bay, near St Ives, comprises of a luxury 47-bedroom hotel, self-catering coastal properties, a boutique spa, two restaurants and a 25-acre golden, sandy Blue Flag beach.
Stephen Baker, owner of the Carbis Bay Hotel, Spa & Estate is thrilled with the award, saying: "It is an absolute delight to announce that we have been awarded 4-star status by the AA. It is the most reputable tourism rating body within the industry - so achieving a higher level rating is a fantastic achievement."
The AA is one of the UK's most recognised and trusted brands for rating accommodation across the UK. Their Common Quality Standards for inspecting and rating accommodation, which is on a scale of one to five stars, is now applied throughout the British Isles.
The Carbis Bay Hotel, Spa & Estate has also been awarded 4 stars as well as a Silver award by Quality in Tourism, the assessment service for VisitEngland. The Silver award is a recognition of quality provided in all areas, in particular housekeeping, service and hospitality, bedrooms, bathrooms and food. While star ratings are based on a combination of quality, range of facilities and level of service offered, Silver awards are based solely on quality.
Stephen continued: "We have made it our aim to offer high standards of service and excellent quality facilities with traditional seaside hospitality ever since my family bought the hotel in the early 80's. Although feedback from our guests and visitors has often confirmed that we are achieving this - it is great to have the added recognition from this prestigious brand."
The award follows a run of accolades for the hotel over the last 12 months - including a Gold award in the 'Large Hotel of the Year' and a Silver award in the 'Venue and Business Tourism' categories of the Cornwall Tourism Awards, Silver and Bronze awards at the South West Tourism Awards and a Western Morning News Business Award for 'Best Tourism or Hospitality Business'.
The hotel's C Bay Spa has also been recognised nationally - winning a Professional Beauty Award for 'Residential Spa of the Year' and a Good Spa Guide Award for 'Best Spa for Romance'.

Facilities are of a high standard and are readily available to guests, making a stay as relaxed and comfortable as possible.
